These are based on the homologous C. elegans genes. This data is produced by the genBlastG program which is a development of the genBlastA program: http://dx.doi.org/10.1101/gr.082081.108 Nota Bene that these data are being provided in advance of publication of the five-genome paper (coordinated by Erich Schwartz). ncRNA entries were extended to include primary as well as mature transcripts and updated using mirbase and RFAM. Genome sequence updates: ----------------------- none New Fixes: ---------- Known Problems: --------------- Some RNAi mappings are a bit erratic. A fix will be forthcoming. Some Gene Ontology terms are outdated (update planned for WS214) Other Changes: -------------- Proposed Changes / Forthcoming Data: ------------------------------------- The Gene Ontology used by WormBase will be updated for WS214 The Journal class will be removed with WS214, as it's functionality is covered by other classes. Model Changes: ------------------------------------ the planned removal of the Journal class is postponed until WS214 -===================================================================================- Quick installation guide for UNIX/Linux systems ----------------------------------------------- 1. Create a new directory to contain your copy of WormBase, e.g. /users/yourname/wormbase 2. Unpack and untar all of the database.*.tar.gz files into this directory. You will need approximately 2-3 Gb of disk space. 3. Obtain and install a suitable acedb binary for your system (available from www.acedb.org). 4. Use the acedb 'xace' program to open your database, e.g. type 'xace /users/yourname/wormbase' at the command prompt. 5. See the acedb website for more information about acedb and using xace. ____________ END _____________
