Follow-up to: The C. elegans uaf-1 gene is very different from its C. briggsae ortholog

In a Worm Breeder's Gazette 16:21 article Tom Blumenthal described in 2000 that the C.briggsae ortholog Cbr-uaf-1 is missing 2 introns and that the ancestral form is unknown.

Due to the fact that the C.remanei and C.brenneri genome is now available, I aligned them using PECAN and could not find the 2 introns in the other species. Therefore I propose that the form without the 2 introns is the ancestral one.
