Alliance scRNAseq Working group

  • The Alliance will set up a new working group for scRNA seq data.
  • We need to propose a candidate to represent WB.

Adam Miller from UO reached out to the expr WG saying the Alliance PI met with CZI and wanted to set up a new scRNAseq WG.

Paul: CZI will compute the raw data and will generate the cell-gene martices. Alliance role will be focused on displaying and adding metadata. Metadata may be simple, and the focus is more on display/biological meaning. The first tasks are probably going to be to decide what metadata is needed and how to incorporate it. Also, figure out what CZI vs EBI can provide.

Daniela doesn't have the bandwidth to be on this WG.

Valerio could be part of the WG if needed, and he can present the sc tools at WB developed with Eduardo.

Wen: metadata is mostly mapping ontology terms and it should be in Raymond's domain of expertise but she will be be part of the WG.

Wen will be part of the initial iteration of the Working Group.

IWM

Daniela ordered frisbees. People from Caltech will help bringing them. Kimberly will bring pens.

Raymond: finalize workshop presentation? Scott will send slides and/or a recording and somebody should help with it.

Todd will talk about WB tools and can also help with Scott's presentation.

Chris: Scott posted a youtube video that could be used also for this workshop, but doing something live will be even better.

Chris: 3 big Worm trophies and 12 smaller. Should we add some more useful prize? He will think about it

Nameserver Gene dump update ?

List of genes that are new in the nameserver are not accessible by caltech curation anymore.

We would like to export the jar file from the dumper that Matt set up and expose the file on a server.

Todd will take a look at it soon.

Add list of top 10 ACKnowledge community curators to Activity widget

google spreadsheet to update the list of top community curators. Chris generates the list of top phenotype curators and pastes it manually to the sheet. The website is updated automatically from the spreadsheet.

We can replicate the same solution for now and create a separate spreadsheet for acknowledge. Having an api that reads the data from the caltech postgres db would be the best solution for the future.

Paulo will duplicate the iframe for the spreadsheet. The ACK team will create the spreadsheet
