Agenda

1. WS266 schedule

  • Proposed upload date - 18th May

2. Loading additional ontologies

  • On the models list, we agreed to import the Relation Ontology (RO), which is needed for GO annotation, and could also be used elsewhere
  • Are there other ontologies we should import? e.g. ECO?

3. SAB 2018/Project Meeting

  • Assuming July 12/13 now confirmed
  • Travel plans
    • Hinxton will be flying in Weds night, and will be around for the whole of Thu/Fri (flying back at some point over the weekend)

4. Genotype class?

1. Biological Ontologies Meeting (ICBO) at Oregon in August

  • Raymond, Gary, Chris interested in going (to join phenotype ontology developers meeting at beginning)
  • Would contribute to phenotype ontology workshop

2. WS266 upload

  • Files are due May 15th to citace
  • Tomorrow is the last day to propose changes to models
  • Models will be released next week

3. Importing Ontologies into WormBase

  • Will hold off till WS267 to import RO and ECO
  • Will give us more time to think about all the models that may need changing
  • Currently some curators using GO codes, GO codes could be automatically mapped to ECO codes

4. Project meeting and SAB 2018

  • Thursday all day: project meeting, site presentations
  • Thursday night dinner
  • Friday morning-presentations Afternoon-SAB feedback
  • Friday night dinner

Topics for discussion:

  • Path to transition to Alliance and potential problems
  • Focus on plans and priorities--curation priorities

Travel arrangements:

  • Sibyl will send the accomodation code
  • Caltech people: contact Sarah for travel arrangements

5. Genotype class

  • Many MODs curate to the Genotype
  • There is a practical use of introducing the Genotype class--sometimes authors do not give the names of strains, can represent the entire genetic entity that is the model for disease and/or exhibits the phenotype
  • Name server will handle the Genotype creating and issuing
  • Name server is being rewritten so will be easier to use
  • OA will be able to access the name server
