ACKnowledge Community Curation

Please refer to the ACKnowledge project page and the GitHub repository for more information on WormBase community curation.

Excluding authors from mailing lists

  • If an authors no longer wishes to receive notifications one can either 1) use the Omit form or 2) Ask Cecilia
    • Omit Form: Go to the Omit Form CGI
      • Log in with your curators credentials and follow the instructions. The ‘Omit Form’ CGI:
        • Adds data to frm_wbperson_skip if it says WBPerson\d+
        • Adds to frm_ip_block if it looks like an IP address /^\d{1,3}\.\d{1,3}\.\d{1,3}\.\d{1,3}/
        • Adds to frm_email_skip if it has an @ in there
    • Cecilia keeps track of 3 types of non-notification:
      • hide : suppress whole object from acedb/WormBase
      • privacy : we keep track of email, we don't mass email, we don't put it in acedb/WormBase, but we can still do person-paper verification, and know that we don't need to find their email.
      • unsubscribe : _does_ show up in acedb/Wormbase. no mass emails, do contact for person-paper verifications.

Forms available at Web Submission Forms

  • Addresses of Authors
  • Updating contact information
  • Updating intellectual lineage information
    • These are all collecting one sort of data type and do not really fall under the remit of Community Curation.
  • Gene/Sequence Links
  • New Gene Class Name Proposal
    • These are the same form. I believe it is a good candidate for future Community Curation (Mary Ann)
  • Gene Expression and Regulation
  • Transgenes
  • Gene Ontology Terms
  • Allele data
    • Already working on (Mary Ann)
  • Breakpoint Data
  • Deletion/Duplication Data
  • Multipoint Cross Data
  • Two-point Cross Data
  • New/Altered Rearrangement Data
    • The above forms are rarely used and since the Genetic Map is frozen we are not actively collecting this data. No change needed (Mary Ann)
  • Wild Isolate Strain Data
    • Rarely used, most submitters tend to submit large volumes of data via spreadsheets. Works well. I think we only need to promote as a data type but not create a new form (Mary Ann)
