This is just a notice to remind everyone that we will have two new species in WS241
Topic curation
Hinxton is going to be running some of their existing programs on new species sequence data to curate ncRNA’s of various types. Caltech will choose a subtopic in ncRNA’s (probably miRNA’s) for literature curation for the next upload (WS242). For information about topic curation see: http://wiki.wormbase.org/index.php/Topic_Curation
GFF3 testing - website
Abby would like to remind curators to test data on the staging site that comes from the GFF3 files. For example the sequence widget.
WormMine update
Joachim has been making significant progress on the automation of the WormMine build. Before he started it took days and was not very scalable. He is working on:
1) Quick integration to sync the Mine with data releases (this will occur for WS240).
2) Data issues, so going forward we can make it easy to debug and rebuild.
3) the institution of a weblog to track Mine issues and updates
Once the automation is in place he will address the incorporation of new data types, such as RNAi and orthology.
SAB/project meetings
1) We will have a project meeting focused on the database in March of 2014
2) The SAB meeting is likely to be in Hinxton in the Fall of 2014 (sept or oct?)
