Description of fields

Since this is for the community, it might be worth having a short one-line instruction for each field (shown in italics here), on top of the box for entering data:

1. Enter your first name.

Autocomplete, Drop-down with predetermined values from the OA, if not found, free text is allowed.

5. Choose a gene gin_locus gin_synonyms gin_seqname gin_wbgene this is the priority of how genes get autocompleted

6.Write a concise description for the gene you've chosen.

Concise description: A big box for free-text, similar to the 'Description Text' box in the Concise Description OA.

7. Enter a published paper reference, either a PMID, WBPaper identifier or a DOI. Please note that WormBase will not accept meeting abstracts, Gazette articles or personal communications as references.

Also, once PMID is entered, form pulls up Paper information, meaning title etc etc, similar to what P2GO does; Kimberly will talk to JC about it.

Start typing in a species, the form will autocomplete the text. If you cannot find the species in the drop-down, please enter it manually. This field is required.


5. Choose a gene Enter a gene name eg. abc-1. Sequence names and WBGene IDs are allowed. If the WormBase gene you begin typing is present in the drop-down, the form will autocomplete the text. If you cannot find the gene in the drop-down, please enter it manually.


6.Write a concise description for the gene you've chosen. Please see guidelines on writing a concise description.
