Help Desk

  • Issue #8929: Is there a way to find out when these genetic position were assigned and whether these gets updated with more recent mappings?
  • Issue #8926: The protein alignments would be more useful if the residue number was indicated at the end of each row of the orthologous protein entry, for each block of sequence shown.
  • Issue #8925: Long read transcript data for the S. ratti genome.
  • Issue #8919: In 2020, we corrected gene annotations of the nematode Pristionchus pacificus.
  • Issue #8907: WBPaper00063926 has no title in ACeDB. The paper title exists in postgres but not in ACeDB. In WS287, there are 8 papers from MEDLINE that have no title.

Agenda

Support for 'non-canonical' species at the Alliance

  • The A-Team is increasingly dealing with technical issues surrounding support for 'non-canonical' species (those species other than the main 8 currently supported at the Alliance)
  • There is the question of to what extent these need to be supported (or constrained) in the persistent store and curation tool
  • Another question is to what extent these non-canonical species need to be supported in the public website and APIs
  • It would be good to have a general discussion at the Alliance about what kind of support we envision:
    • Do we want standard Alliance gene pages for all genes from non-canonical species?
    • Do we want non-canonical species to only be supported on Alliance pages for entities like genes from the related model organism clade/group?
    • Do we want/need to support curation to entities from non-canonical species?
    • Do we need to establish something like the Tier system at WormBase: Tier I, Tier II, etc.?
