Paralog alert! This gene is indeed a homolog of C. elegans her-1, but there is also a second predicted paralog, CRE22888. However, this prediction's curated form only includes two of the real exons of the gene. The more accurate prediction, based on the ability to produce a protein with full-length alignability to other HER-1 protein homologs, is that produced by Augustus.
